Maxim Fedotov - Russian violinist and conductor, laureate and winner of major International violin competitions (International P. Tchaikovsky Competition, N. Paganini Violin Competition, International Competition in Tokyo), People's Artist of Russia (2002), Laureate of the Moscow Government Award (2003).

The musician gave concert appearances in the most famous venues around the world.

 

Performed with many world major orchestras, cooperated with prominent conductors. An important part of his artistic work is concert activities and recordings of his duet with pianist Galina Petrova.

 

Maxim Fedotov is the first violinist, who gave a recital playing the two Paganini's Violins - Guarneri del Ges? and Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume (St. Petersburg, 2003).

 

Among the violinist’s recordings are "24 Caprices" by Paganini («DML-classics») and CD series - «All compositions for violin by Bruch» («Naxos»).

 

Today, Maxim Fedotov organically combines the activities of a symphony conductor and a concert violinist. This was backed up by the creative and intellectual potential of the musician, his wide concert experience, personal example of his father - a prominent St. Petersburg conductor Viktor Fedotov, traditions of Petersburg opera and symphonic School (Class of People's Artist of the USSR V.Chernushenko) .

 

Since 1995- the Vice-President, and from 1997 to 2003 - President of Association of the International Tchaikovsky Competition Laureates.

 

From 2003 to 2008. - Head of the Violin and Viola Chair of the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music.

 

Since 1987 up to nowdays - Professor of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

 

From 2003 to 2005 - Chief Conductor of the Russian Symphony Orchestra.

 

In 2006 - 2007. - Chief Conductor of the Vienna Balls in Moscow, Russian balls in Baden-Baden, the First Moscow Ball in Vienna.

 

Collaborates with many symphony orchestras, among which are - the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, CRR Symphony Orchestra (Istanbul), Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Glinka Academic Capella, Baden-Baden Philharmonic, Korean Symphony Orchestra (Seoul), Eurasian Symphony Orchestra (Astana), Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Television of Bratislava, «Musica Viva», Chamber Orchestra of the Vatican and many others. Prominent musicians performed with Maxim Fedotov – Conductor.

Since 2006 to December 2010 – worked as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of Moscow "Russian Philharmonic". During this period, Fedotov featured in about 100 concerts with various symphony programs in the central halls of Moscow - the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Moscow International House of Music. Performed all the major symphonic music by Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, and others; performed concert productions of Verdi's opera "Aida", "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss and others, collaborated with the choir of the Bolshoi Company, Yurlov State Academic Choir, the Popov Academy of Choir Art, Academic Big Choir "Masters of Choral Singing”, Choir of St. Peter Cathedral (Vatican) and others, conducted opera and instrumental Gala-concerts. Recorded a number of DVDs and CDs («Classical Records», «Naxos»), concerts on TV- "Kultura", "Mir" and others. Toured with Orchestra in Germany, Turkey and Montenegro.

 

Since January 2011 – he is Chief Conductor of the S.Prokofiev Russian Symphony Orchestra.
